CJM01 : Austin Swallow Sports Two-seater - 1928

Excuse me if you are like me, a Jaguar enthusiast in touch with how the whole Jaguar story started, in turn, knowing why this charming little car is in the CJM range ....... If not, you may be wondering why this Austin Swallow should be featured and modelled by a company specialising in Jaguar scale models ( Classic Jaguar Miniatures ).
Well from 1922, William Lyons ( later Sir ) and William Warmsley ( before parting company ) produced their various aluminium sidecars, then in late 1927, William Lyons produced his first four-wheeled vehicle released in 1928 using the Austin Seven chassis ( some say this was the first Jaguar ?, this was a very important little car in the whole history of Jaguar Cars .... if you read any good Jaguar Book - early chapters, this car is shown as helping Lyons progress onto using Standard engines, then making SS and finally, Jaguar cars ). Lyons built this stylish sports two-seater body, offering a colour choice to all customers. The colours on the Swallows had never been seen in the 1920's where cars were available in Black or Black !!. Two-tone colours like Cream & Crimson and Mist Grey & New Privet Green were a first, and when the wire wheels were painted in the darker chosen colour of the lower body, these little cars were the cars to be seen in for sure.
This Black & Ivory model ( CJM01 ) is perfectly in 1:43rd scale against the real car, being researched by myself, after  contacting Gill Mond. Gill's an expert on Austin Swallows and provided me with expert information which allowed me to reproduce this model with absolute confidence that it's a perfect 1928 Austin Swallow Sports Two-Seater, only forty-three times smaller .... which by the way is small, I mean small !!.

If you have any further questions about this model, I will gladly answer you cut7jag@talktalk.net Thank you.
