CJM07-MMS1 : Jaguar Modsports MKII - Thruxton 1975

Classic Jaguar Miniatures have made this Modsports Jaguar MKII which is a brave move !! with not many ( if any ? ) other Modsports cars being modelled before. Modsports was a Seventies thing that really was quite big at the time, with some very clever guys making super-mods to cars to make them go quicker and quicker and stick to the track.
Tony Williams was very successful with this highly modified MKII which won the 'Modified Saloon Class' that day in 1975 at Thruxton. Tony was still winning in this MKII some twelve years after the MKII Jaguar was written off as a winning car once swallowed up by the big Ford Galaxies in the early 1960's.
Most of the car was lightened and had many fibreglass panels, the rear boot floor was taken out and the rear wings were re-shaped on their trailing edges, it also ran with no radiator grille and the hood cowl shown to ram more air for engine cooling, the very fat low profile slicks made the car very good at cornering on the wide Wolfrace alloys. The interior was stripped apart the basics of a seat and roll cage. The car ran in bright Red with a Golden Yellow side stripe which finished off around the grille opening. All these details have been researched with the help of Tony the driver and owner of 'Risca Garages of Wales' and incorporated in the detailing of the model.

Be quick, because the FIRST 25 BUILT MODELS are signed by Tony Williams on a base at no extra cost.
