CJM08-SM : Equipe Endeavour MKII - Silverstone 1960

Classic Jaguar Miniatures have made this Jaguar MKII model of Tommy Sopwith's Equipe Endeavour Team, driven by Stirling Moss at Silverstone in 1960. The Sopwith MKII's were always ordered from Jaguar Cars in Indigo Blue with a Red interior, and Silver painted wire wheels. All Tommy's cars had the number 400 in the registration plate which was his lucky number, this model is JAG 400 which was the sister car to VCD 400. The cars could be told apart during the race by the plain White stripe around the radiator grille of JAG 400, whilst VCD 400 had a checked stripe design. Stirling Moss only drove one MKII Jaguar in his racing career and this was it, dicing with Roy Salvadori in the rival Pearl Grey Coombs MKII, 6 PPF. Moss and Salvadori swapped the lead throughout the race with Salvadori retaking the lead with a lap to go, just holding Moss off to the line.
The model has been researched to be accurate against the car that raced that day in 1960 at Silverstone, it has the correct re-rooted racing exhaust, BRDC badge in front of the radiator grille, correct bungee strap to secure the bonnet, left and right handed wire wheel spinners, front bucket seats and internal starter solenoid.
